Taxpayers face points accessing e-filing portal; Infy taking measures, says IT dept.

As taxpayers face points in accessing the e-filing portal, the Revenue Tax division on Saturday mentioned software program supplier Infosys is taking ‘proactive measures’ to take care of the ‘irregular site visitors’ on the portal.

“It has been seen that taxpayers are going through points in accessing ITD e-filing portal. As knowledgeable by @Infosys, they’ve noticed some irregular site visitors on the portal for which proactive measures are being taken,” the I-T division tweeted.

The brand new e-filing portal www.incometax.gov.in, launched on June 7, 2021, had a bumpy begin with taxpayers and professionals reporting glitches and difficulties in its functioning. Infosys was given the contract in 2019 to develop the portal.

Extra lately, the portal confronted snags on the primary anniversary of its introduction and plenty of customers complained that they had been unable to log in into the portal, whereas some complained malfunctioning of the search performance.

The federal government has paid ₹164.5 crore to Infosys to construct the brand new revenue tax e-filing portal.
