A QUIET PLACE PART II is a worthy sequel that stays true to what made its predecessor such a huge success. At the box office, the film will likely face stiff competition.

A Quiet Place Part II is the story of a family trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic world. After Lee (John Krasinski) dies, his wife Evelyn (Emily Blunt) and her deaf daughter Regan (Milicent Symonds) are able to wipe out the creatures that attacked their residence. They leave with Evelyn’s son Marcus (Noah Jupe) and her newborn baby as their house is destroyed. They try to find other survivors, which leads them to a fenced area. Evelyn accidentally triggers an audible alarm, and Marcus walks into a bear trap, the pain forcing him to scream. A creature runs to attack them, but is killed when Regan confuses him with her cochlear implant and Evelyn fires at the creature. They encounter an abandoned steel foundry, and an old friend Emmett (Cillian Murphy) leads them to his soundproofed underground hideout. Emmett revealed that he lost his family, including his wife, in the attack. In the hideout, Marcus finds the song “Beyond The Sea” playing on the radio. Emmett said it has been on the air for four months. Based on Lee’s research, Reagan realized that the song implied that the survivors were “outside the sea” on a nearby island. She shares with Marcus her idea that she wants to get to the island and meet the survivors, then plan a way to eliminate the creatures. A frightened Marcus asks her to stay put. However, Reagan escaped. Evelyn pleads with Emmett to find Regan and bring her back. What happens next makes up the rest of the movie.

The story of Brian Woods and Scott Baker is in sync with the first part. A few new characters and elements have been introduced to help keep the interest going. The script by Brian Woods, Scott Baker and John Krasinski also aptly captures the context and atmosphere of the series. However, some plot points are not easy to digest. Also, in terms of novelty, the sequel offers very little, which may not upset some fans. Conversations are conversational. The first part barely had any dialogue, but the sequel has plenty.

John Krasinski’s instruction was great, as good as the first part. The first part proves that he knows his work well. With the sequel, it’s clear he also knows how to boost the thrill and fear factor. Certain scenarios handle exceptions as expected. But watch out for his professional execution in the first 10 to 15 minutes; it’s the first start of a horror movie! Another thing to note is how subtly he uses silence. Horror movies rely on sound, but for some scenes of Deaf Reagan, no sound or music was used, but it made an impact. On the other hand, he was disappointed by some of the developments in the script. Some of these plot points are problematic and not entirely convincing. Second, one would expect more action and excitement from the film, and possibly newer ways to destroy the creatures. In this regard, some may feel at a loss for the sequel not taking it to the next level.This “Brahma” The fact that the Albert family finds killing these creatures in the first part remains paramount throughout the film. However, this can also be supported as the film remains faithful to the first part. Third, the film was released very late in India. It opens in the US on May 28, 2021, with a digital release on July 13. Hollywood movies start showing in India from July 30, and ideally, the second part of A Quiet Place should hit Indian cinemas in August. It will face the same issues as Fast and Furious 9, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do, Jungle Cruise, and more – many viewers have already seen it in bootlegs, so its footsteps will suffer.

A QUIET PLACE PART II begins with a swinging note, showing how the raid began on Earth. It sends chills down your spine and also mentions supermarkets and space toys, which were a big part of the earlier films. The attack on the Abbott family outside the foundry drew attention. The attack on Reagan inside the train car was predictable, but still interesting. The sequence of the barbarians attacking Regan and Emmett is a nice shock, but it also raises the question of how they survived. Second, the way the creature manages to infiltrate the ship and attack the island only the next day is very convincing, as it goes against the creature’s impulsive and reckless personality. The ending is a bit like the first part, but it’s a good idea to use parallel tracks here. The film ends with hints that a third installment is on the horizon.

Emily Blunt is doing great again. But shockingly, she was relegated to the back seat in the second half. Millicent Simmonds was the top performer and had the longest run time. John Krasinski, who is also the director of the film, appears at the beginning of the film, which is great. Noah Jupe provided great support. Cillian Murphy’s role is poorly defined, but it’s brilliant. Djimon Hounsou (the island’s colonial leader), Okirite Onaodowan (the cop on the first day of the attack), and Wayne Duvall (grocery owner) are all good.

Marco Beltrami’s music enhances the impact. Polly Morgan’s photography is commendable, especially in the opening scene. Jess Gonchor’s production design is real. Kasia Walicka-Maimone’s costumes are shabby and fit for the movie. The visual effects are top-notch, and the action is a little bloody but not disturbing. Clever editing by Michael P Shawver.

Overall, A QUIET PLACE PART II is a worthy sequel that stays true to what made its predecessor such a huge success. It’s already one of the year’s biggest hits at the global box office. But in India, its collection could suffer from a late release, as its pirated prints have long flooded the internet.
